Welcome

The Goshen Initiative: “Healing the body of Christ, by EVERY God-given means, one wounded member at a time.”

More than five years ago, “Goshen” was “birthed” when Archbishop Charles Jones of the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church confirmed the vision given Father Jim Hager for a set apart place and people called to care for the weary, weak, worn and wounded Christians in general and Clergy (to include Chaplains) in specific.  Abp. Jones provided his blessing and release for Goshen to be formed as an ecumenical and collaborative work.

Goshen is tri-faceted:

  • Goshen Place (a Set-Apart Place of Refuge and Healing)
  • Goshen Community (a Set-Apart People who are Called to Care)
  • Goshen School of Shalom (Christianity: 500 ~ Radical Discipleship)

Goshen Place (Overview)

There is an unmet need in the Midlands of South Carolina for a place of refuge and healing for Christians, particularly clergy: pastors and chaplains.  As a member of the PastorCare Network, Goshen is committed to establish such a place and is in need for the donation of land and buildings.  Similar places in adjoining states have calendars that are booked years in advance, so the need for such a place is real and long overdue. As a not-for-profit Faith-Based Initiative, Goshen is able to provide donors with a tax receipt for any donation or “in kind” service rendered or provided.

We are also looking for donations of land to build Goshen Place. You can use the Contact us Link above to contact us about land donations.

Goshen Community (Who We Are)

Goshen Place will be “staffed” by three types of persons: Covenant Members of the Goshen Community; Community Members of the Goshen Community; and, Partners in Ministry.  ALL will work collaboratively to provide compassionate holistic care to those the Holy Spirit sends.
